Comments: I had so much fun at the reunion. It was so good to
see Howie, John, Brian, Melissa, Dell, Timmy and Sherry. And so many
others. I was trying to see how many people I could remember. (You did
a good job Dell of guessing too.)
I can't wait for the 25th. If anybody wants to go rafting I know a few
people who might be able to get us a good discount. I now work for
Steelcon, right above John W Eye.
Time for me to go and call my sister to check on my niece, who is sick.
I was reading the 1986 entries and if I am not mistaken didn't we have
a good football season that year? We lost to Bluefield due to bad
calls?? Please correct me if I am wrong.

seeing several grade school friends from Central
Elementary as well as those who I met in Junior High or High School. It

with Michael Green, maybe we can do a rafting expedition down the New

Jerry M. Weikle, who graduated from NRCC in 1992 (General Studies)
recently received a Bachelor of Science
degree from Old Dominion University. He began courses as a Teletechnet
student at the New River Community
College site in Dublin, and finished the degree while living in
Norfolk. He is also a participant in a NASA
program--Deep Impact Mission--planned for July 4th of this year. He
says his professors at New River Community
College and Old Dominion instilled the desire to "Reach for the Stars."

Comments: Information Technology is a wonderful tool, that
allows individuals to write about their family
geneology, alumni associations, prior careers and seek employment
across the nation.
Then 911 happened, and we now live in the age of terrorism. While it
would be great to see and talk with former
instructors/teachers at the reunion--or some of the friends--I would
have to question the potato salad--who knows with
this graduation class--?
Did we, really change the world to a better place--people are still
starving in Africa! The music was great!
I will wait until the 60th reunion, by then I should have Parkenson--I
can sit in the wheelchair and
smile--thinking the Jr High and High School years were the best times
of life. There is something to be said about 'old
age'--atleast we forget!

Comments: Greetings from the Capital of the South. That's
right, I'm living in Confederate hell. Worked construction
in DC after HS, joined the Navy soon after. Graduated from WVU Tech
with a few degrees. Did a tour in the Active
Reserve during Iraqi War numer uno. Went to work for a Fax/Modem
company in Princeton, WV (What a sweatshop that was).
Moved on to MCI and worked long haul fiber optic systems from Main to
Florida. Left MCI and settled in Richmond to work
for GTE. Now I'm an Engineering Supervisor for Verizon Telecom.
Married to a wonderful woman, Jennifer, who happens to be a Hokie
grad. Even she doesn't know what a "Hokie Bird"
is. Have two great kids, Sebastian 3 and Veronica 14 mos.
I make it to WV bi-monthly. Lost both parents in the past two years.
Still settling the estate matters.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. Didn't know the
Black Knight was still open. Are there

I still work for Dow Chemical - but changed jobs 2 years ago. I am now
a Licensing Project Manager
for our clients in Asia. I have traveled quite a bit the last two
years - manly to China, with a few
trips to Australia and England thrown in. I am currently on
maternity/family leave - I just had a little
girl, Nicole, in November. It served to remind me just how old I was.
My boys are now in Junior High
(Justin - 12) and Kindergarten (Alex - 6).

Comments: Hi ya'll - it is great reading up on everyone! After
graduating Woodrow I went to
Emory University in Atlanta, graduating in 1988. While at Emory I was
very lucky to be able to attend the Semester
at Sea program. After college I was a paralegal in St. Thomas U.S.
Virgin Islands and Winston-Salem North Carolina,
and attended law school in Los Angeles, California. My wife Emily and
I just celebrated our 13th anniversary, and we
have a beautiful daughter, Savannah, who is now 7 1/2! We moved to the
Athens, Georgia area 2 years ago after five years
in Charleston, SC. We now both work together in our own meeting and
conference planning business. It would be great
to hear from everybody, and I look forward to hearing about the 20th
reunion. Any other former Flying Eagle Marching Band

Indianapolis and working for a student loan company. After high
school, I moved to Oklahoma City for 2 years to
go to Mid America Bible College. I then transferred to Anderson
University in Anderson, IN. After I graduated,
there were no jobs to be found in Anderson so I moved to Indianapolis.

info since my last entry was in 2001. I finished graduate school and
received my Masters in Nursing - Family
Nurse Practitioner - in August 2002. I worked full-time as a nurse
practitioner for about a year but in May 2003
I took a job at a community college as the nursing program
coordinator/instructor for the satellite nursing program
in Moorefield, WV. Even though I'm in the eastern panhandle, I work for
Southern WV Community College in Logan, WV....go
figure. Still married (14 years) and my kids, Courtney 11 and Daniel 8

great to see so many familiar names, and know
that so many people are out there with the same kinds of memories of
Beckley in the mid-80's. I graduated in '85, attended
Bethany and Marshall, got a BA in English, then went to law school at
WVU. I lived and worked in Beckley, primarily, from
1993-2003, and rarely saw a soul from our class, Myra Sims and Donnie
Lively being frequent exceptions. I kept in touch
with John Scherer and Doug Dillon. I got married to Melissa (Merchant)
in August of 2002, and we now live and work together

I'm still living back at home with my mom and am now a member of the
Church of God family worship center.
That's right I'm a pentecostal. A full blown tounge talking
pentecostal. our church is now temporaroly holding
services in Woodrow's auditoriom for a couple months until the new
Sanctuary at our new church location
on pinewood Drive in Beckley is completed. So we've been having some
awesome services in there. I'm a member of the Church of
God family worship center choir. our services over there start at 10:00
on Sunday morning in Woodrows's auditoriom and Sunday evening
at 6:00 WED night at 7:00. yall come check it out and we should be in
our new Church By DEC 2003.

Beckley. I ran into Michelle Richards at Bible

FL for 7 years. During that time I met and married a great Syracuse
Grad, Bill. We have 3 boys...Mitchell(10), Matthew(8), and

engineer on a C-130 in the Navy. We have lived near San
Francisco, Los Angeles, and now Washington, D.C. since leaving
Florida. I am involved with the Navy Family Ombudsman

about many of you since we graduated. I've only kept regular contact
with Karen (Lowry) Rhodes. She lives

Personally, after graduation, I went to Marshall. Got a B.S. in
biology. I took a job as a Sanitarian
(that's a health inspector) with a county health department in the
eastern panhandle. I then moved up to
the WV Bureau for Public Health. Have had several positions with
them...am currently the Sanitarian Training
Officer (I train all the newly hired health inspectors in the state).
I met my husband thru my job, we've been
married for more than 9 years now. He's a Sanitarian too. (Going out
to dinner with us is usually a hoot!). He
had a son from a previous marriage, he's 21 years old, his name is
Brent. He lived with us until he was 17 years
old. We have a daughter, Ellen, who is 8 years old.
I'd love to hear from you guys and I hope that we have a reunion at the
