The 1950 Broadcasting Yearbook shows WPAT-FM Paterson NJ on 103.5 but there is a blank where the on-air date should appear. I previously indicated with a note here that I suspected WPAT-FM did not operate on 103.5, and that WGLI-FM was the first call on that frequency, beginning in 1957. However, in 2004 Ken Lamb writes, "It's my understanding that WPAT-FM was originally on 103.5. The station signed on in the late 1940's and went dark in 1950 after its Garrett Mountain transmitter was destroyed by a storm. WPAT returned to the FM band, on 93.1 in 1957, the frequency available because Armstrong's station had signed off after his suicide."
